The fine slit

Between rap, dance, and poetry, Der feine Schliv explores new spaces. In her performances, she oscillates between provocative „f**k you“ statements to the patriarchy and empathetic narratives of trying and failing. She performs with, among others, the young Serbian duo "Slezga" as well as the Hamburg groups Fallbeil and Yummy Air. The diversity of her accompaniments reflects her musical universe, from ballad-like conscious rap to country tunes and witchy toasting.

Yummy Air

Between classic blues, metal, garage rock, and boogie jazz, the brothers have carved their unexpected way straight into the hearts of the audience. A sound one would only expect from old live recordings from the early seventies. With sharp lyrics, they denounce the capitalist contexts in which we live, without losing their sense of humor. Dressed in cowboy outfits, masculinities are naturally questioned and new, self-ironic, and vulnerable possibilities of it are lived out.

The combination of punk rock and rap that Yummy Air and Der feine Schliv bring to the stage breaks with sexist norms, shifts the boundaries of heteronormativity, and provides the audience with empowerment, entertainment, and a desire to dance. The lyrics in English and German are accompanied by drums, bass, and guitar and can be understood as an incitement to revolution.

DJ Schmalz, also known as Leo Niemals, has been collecting records for a few years and often plays at hallo:radio and Vynil Taxi in Locke. Listening sessions, warm background music, or dancing! She mixes diverse styles and explores many musical territories. Her current specialty: experimental music and post-punk, primarily from the 70s and 80s. She loves funky basslines, synthesizers, and humorous lyrics.

MADAMIMADAM is playing outernational and unusual electronic dance music from South Africa via Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, and India to South America.

Very rhythmic, very dynamic, and very danceable!

MADAMIMADAM has been part of the Hamburg underground scene for many years, playing at Golden Pudel, Slot, Gängeviertel, MS Stubnitz, and many other bars and venues in Hamburg. She is also a resident DJane at the Lala festival in Kiel.

Raubwürger are three quirky birds from Hamburg who advocate for nature with brutal environmental hardcore. Out of love for nature and anger at how it is being treated. Stylistically, Raubwürger operate in various areas of hardcore punk with hard electric guitars and driving drums. The songs deal with birdwatching, peaceful forest walks, and mushroom picking, but also various aspects of environmental destruction and resource waste. Love birds, hate fascism.

The 12 m² project organizes utopian walks through Hamburg: What would it be like if we looked at the city through different eyes? Our interactive tours allow us to imagine that the world we live in could be completely different! Ana Amil's lecture on the Asphaltsprenger takes us on a virtual exploration tour of Hamburg to see what alternatives exist to the car-oriented city.

Ana Amil is a culture and community manager and founder. The focus of her work is on justice issues. "All everyday and public areas of life, such as mobility, work, health, education, housing, participation, ... must be thought of intersectionally and become fairer and more equal."

"FARN" - The offer from the "Fachstelle Radikalisierungsprävention und Engagement im Naturschutz" of the Naturefriends of Germany and the Naturefriends Youth of Germany

Ecology from the right: The workshop sheds light on the historical and current links between German nature conservation and environmental protection and extreme right-wing concepts. Participants will be sensitized to recognize inhuman thought patterns in nature conservation and environmental protection.

The Hallo: Verein is a platform, a framework for diverse projects and initiatives, embedded in a neighborhood in the east of Hamburg. We work as an open and self-organized structure. We open up private and public spaces and turn them into communal places. Our means are artistic, performative, mediating, negotiating, formalizing and connecting.

The kiosk is a neighborhood contact point where people develop and implement a meeting space and offers together - at PARKS, the community open space project at the old recycling yard in Hammerbrook, which the neighborhood has been developing and operating together with Hallo: and atelier le balto since 2019.

Organism Democracy Berlin Osloer Straße

How can all living beings participate in a political system? It is being tested on a wooded wasteland in Berlin's Wedding district. Empathy laboratory, participatory political multispecies formats, educational projects and performances.

The "Wild Throats" are a musical-literary performance by Carsten Kluth and Xaver Römer on bird-human relationships. We trace the 'wild throats', record the songs of yellowhammers, tits, reed warblers and others, make music with them, write and compose their stories. We slip into their perspective to become a little wild ourselves.

Small, colorful, important – the Bombus environmental vehicle makes insect diversity experienceable with an interactive exhibition. We also have our giant puzzles in tow. In front of our vehicle, we set up our insect obstacle course and you can change your perspective – put on your compound eyes and go.

Have you always wanted to know what edible things grow right outside your front door? Then come by our action stand! Here you'll find wild plants to learn about and taste, snacks and drinks to make yourself, crossword puzzles, coloring pages, stories, informational material, and much more!

You want spiders? You'll get spiders! And everything around them. The interactive reading offers all sorts of material about the eight-legged creatures. Not only cuddly hand puppets, but also quite real—but quite lifeless. There will definitely be something to touch, to marvel at, and to discuss. And most of it has eight legs.

Let's go to the Asphaltsprenger Festival right in the middle of the street, but completely emission-free. Be there with your children, friends, and family, and of course, with your bikes! Together we'll conquer the streets under the motto: "Children ride bikes - a city worth living in!"

We demand safe cycle paths for our youngest children so that they can also enjoy cycling as adults.

Nestled in the heart of the city, almost 400 allotment gardens remain in Hamburg's Volkspark, like a well-kept treasure. Before a new chapter begins in a few years with the Science City construction projects, author Melina Burmeister and photographer Melf Holm want to capture this piece of Hamburg's history. Since 2025, they have been traveling through the surprisingly diverse gardens, visiting gardeners involved in winemaking, beekeeping, and growing vegetables. With photographs and her narrative voice, Melina will take you into this urban paradise in a cozy yurt atmosphere. You can expect heartfelt insights, personal stories, and anecdotes about Hamburg's green souls.

We are a non-profit association and invite people to experience nature as their fellow world – with tools of nature and wilderness pedagogy and freely told stories in tow. We are active in Hamburg and the North Heath.

In the midst of an idyllic meadow lives the lovable mole, Grabowski. Day after day, he happily digs through the earth, while the sun shines and the birds sing above him. The meadow transforms into a lively landscape of hills, which occasionally causes the farmers to grumble, but for Grabowski, it's paradise. But one day, everything changes. The meadow is surveyed, and menacing excavator noises penetrate Grabowski's underground realm.

Lisa often visits Grandpa in the vegetable garden because there's a lot to discover there. Lisa loves all the little creatures that crawl and buzz around. The ants, the worms, the beetles, and the bees. She can watch them for hours and therefore imitate them so well.

Lisa takes you into the world of insects. And her grandpa explains why he's so happy about all the little creatures in his garden.

Andreas Dorau, an artist and musician from Hamburg, has been releasing recordings on an irregular basis since 1981. One theme that runs through his entire oeuvre is animals and nature. He will be a guest at the Asphaltsprenger for the third time, presenting and commenting on pieces about the North German animal world. An audiovisual tour in five stations awaits you. Specialist animal experts will also have their say. Be there!

How clean is the air we breathe? On this measurement tour, we use a mobile measuring device to take a close look at the concentration of ultrafine particles - tiny pollutants from traffic, industry and other sources that can penetrate deep into the lungs. Together we will explore the area surrounding the festival, show the measured values live and explain what they mean. Come along on a scientific walk and find out more about invisible pollution in the air we breathe!

Research bike – Discover, marvel, research yourself!

With our mobile research bike, we're bringing science directly to the Asphaltsprenger Festival. At our experiment stations, you can explore flowers, soil, water, and insects under real microscopes, try out natural phenomena, and ask your own questions. How does life exist in the soil? What's in a drop of water? Come by, research with us, and discover the invisible world right in the middle of the festival!

Joint campaign by Elana Neil, W3, Nordwurm, and Podcast Nebelhorn

The soil and the earth on which we stand is not only a habitat, but also a symbol of diversity, change, death, composting and growth. It nourishes plants, fungi, animals and humans and shows us how important it is to look after each other, to live and grow together. In nature, we find many different species of plants, fungi and animals that together form an ecosystem. Together with the artist Elana Neil, we want to experience the earth together on this day and get to know different perspectives:

Earthworms are an important component of good soil and therefore the basis for all growth. Our mascot is the earthworm family called "SiS" (from the company Nordwurm and rescued worms from the Anglershop). It guides us through the art project and then answers the question of why it eats everything but the seeds and sprouts!

We also play memory games or make seed balls that look like rum balls. These are small balls of soil, seeds and clay that we can throw into nature to make plants grow. We also create other "sweets" from soil. Just as we plant seeds in the soil, we also want to sow the ideas of feminism in our society and allow them to flourish. Our creations are perfect as an alternative to real but unhealthy sweets as a gift! Together, we can spread the feminist seeds of compassion, tolerance, mindfulness and equality and start a conversation about them. We are committed to ensuring that equality is practiced and that everyone has the right to be heard and actively participate. Together, we are creating a space in which diversity can flourish! Let's be creative together and plant the seeds for a fairer world!

A city can produce (almost) everything it consumes itself: This is the vision of a "Fabrication City", or Fab City for short. In 2019, Hamburg became the first German city to decide to become a Fab City - with a consistent circular economy, new production processes using openly accessible machines, a new digital infrastructure for the city and extensive participation by city residents, this can be achieved.

Discover the world of the circular economy in a playful way with Fab City - from paper recycling and card games to exciting simulations and experiments. Suitable for all ages!

As part of the "Asphaltsprenger" festival 2025, the Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) BMBF junior research group "CoCare Society" will be represented with posters on two "Stories of Anna and John", a narrative-based climate service product in which information on climate change, health, care and energy efficiency is considered and linked. Research findings are presented in narrative form, discussed at public events and further developed together with stakeholders. The "CoCare Society" will also prepare a game for children on this topic.

At a further GERICS themed table, the project, which is part of the EU project The Human-Tech Nexus (The HuT) developed the serious game "Flood Risk", which can also be played directly on site.

Also featured: Climate Service and Art with a video presenting some highlights of the GERICS activities on "Climate Change and Art", including a minimalist survey.

Last but not least: The GERICS climate outlooks for German counties, districts, regional districts and independent cities (here using Hamburg as an example). In each report, the results for climate parameters such as temperature, heat days, dry days or heavy rain days are summarized on a few pages. The results show the projected development of climate parameters over the course of the 21st century for each scenario with high, moderate or no climate protection.

This scientific publication also makes it clear that we must do everything we can to stop climate change.

We (three to five scientists from the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon) are planning two to three workshops (tours) on measuring particulate matter in close proximity to the Asphaltsprenger festival on the PARKS grounds. Additionally, we will be demonstrating our findings on air quality in Hamburg (modeling, forecasting) in an engaging, hands-on manner at a booth. Simple particulate matter measuring devices can also be borrowed to identify areas with high emissions during your own tour and to analyze and discuss your data with us at the booth.

Natural history collections allow us to travel through space and time, revealing species from distant places like the Ecuadorian Amazon or the deep sea. Museums preserve this incredible diversity to expand our knowledge of the planet. They hold stories about the people behind the collections. The Museum der Natur Hamburg, with 10 million objects, contains many untold stories. This year, we decided to bring a small piece of our museum to the Asphalt Sprenger Festival and share some of our favorite untold stories. Be aware, they include spiders, worms, crustaceans, and many more.

Curation: Space for Art & Ecology

RISA is a joint process by BUKEA and HAMBURG WASSER to rethink the way we deal with rain in Hamburg. This works by using swales and ditches, green roofs and green facades to retain rainwater, allow it to seep away and evaporate. Schoolyards, sports fields, parks and playgrounds can be used for this purpose. In addition, everyone can contribute to this on their own property. Financial support is available through the RISA funding program.

A small exhibition at the Asphaltsprenger Festival shows what possibilities exist and how this has been implemented in Hamburg for decades. Information will also be provided about the RISA funding program.

"What is water?" At first glance, this question seems banal, but it is remarkably complex. Is water merely a resource that we need to manage and monetize? Can people actually own water and if not, why can it be sold? Can we manage and control water or is it rather a force of nature with its own rules? Is it a good that belongs to all people on this planet and should be understood and protected as a common good?

We cordially invite you to join us on the Bille and listen to the voices and thoughts of various scientists on the question of what water actually is via an audio format. You can then write or record your own message in a bottle: What does water mean to you? What water stories have you experienced? Because yes, everything flows together.

The working group "Critical Geographies of Global Inequalities" deals with existing inequality and power relations from a critical perspective. In addition to theoretical-conceptual debates and empirical research, we contribute our research questions and findings to teaching and social processes.

As a non-profit association, we have been committed for many decades to the protection of mound-building wood ants, which play a significant role in the forest ecosystem. They live in a highly organized social state, where each individual takes on specialized tasks in the interest of the community.

Our work combines practical nature conservation with public outreach and environmental education.

Kistenschnack: What moves you? Come on, let's talk!

What moves people in Hamburg? What drives or concerns them? What would they like to discuss? How do they see the future? What do they dream of? Can they even afford to dream? Would they like to change something, on a small scale in their neighborhood, in their district or on a large scale, in the city, in Germany, Europe and the world? Let's find out! In the middle of the PARKS grounds and yet undisturbed in the Hedda Hummel Box, festival visitors talk to exciting personalities from society, culture and science about the topics that move them. Together, opinions are exchanged, information shared and horizons opened up.Afterwards, you can read what was said on our pinboard.

We founded the non-profit association Citizens Forests 5 years ago in Bönningstedt with the aim of planting unused areas with native trees for climate protection. We work on a voluntary basis with volunteers and pass on our know-how free of charge to committed people who would like to carry out a planting campaign in their region. At our stand, we will discuss with you how you can get involved and what is special about our planting method. We look forward to meeting you!

The German Wildlife Foundation is committed to protecting native wild animals and their habitats by implementing nature and species conservation projects, securing areas for wildlife-friendly habitats, and promoting nature education.

Stop by our info booth and discover the world of our local wildlife. Look forward to exciting information, small puzzles, and hands-on activities for all ages.

At our craft event, you can make seed packets with your own custom wildflower mix – and incidentally do something good for our local wildlife.

The association FOR A GREEN HAMBURG has set itself several goals in the area of environmental protection and nature conservation:

The future workshop "The desealers of Hamburg" shows the effects of climate change on urban settlements in an interactive and realistic way. The high degree of sealing, the increasing frequency of heavy rainfall events and the increasing heat phases in summer represent a major need for action for cities like Hamburg.

The future workshop combines theoretical content from the areas of soil, water and surface sealing with practical experience. Experiments and practical tasks provide real-life insights into the future challenges facing HAMBURG WASSER.

Outdoor advertising is annoying, manipulative, distracting and consumes an incredible amount of energy. In addition, backlit and digital billboards contribute to light pollution, which has a negative impact on insects and birds.

We want to make Hamburg better:

• No digital advertising systems
• smaller advertising spaces
• half of the areas for culture

In order for this to be put to a referendum, we need the signatures of 5% of the people eligible to vote in Hamburg by May 13, 2025. You can sign directly at our stand at the Asphaltsprenger festival and make our advertising regulation law a reality.

We plant hedges in people's heads and in the fields!

When we hear the word hedgerow, not everyone thinks of flowering shrubs, fields and paths lined with birdsong, colorful ribbons that run through the landscape in autumn and fruits that provide food for animals late into the winter. As hedge rescuers, we want to bring this image to people's minds and explain how important wild hedges are for native biodiversity and also for climate protection.

We plant new wild hedges and ensure that they are cared for in a nature-friendly manner. Our aim is to be able to harvest their fruit in a few years' time. Elderberries, rose hips, cornelian cherries and sloes will then be processed into high-quality products.

At our stand, you can find out more about our activities and get tips on how you can make a big difference in your own small garden. Young and old can playfully learn more about hedges with our memory game.

KUNST AUF BROT - a joint campaign by Minitopia and Solawi Superschmelz

Minitopia is an extracurricular place of learning, an adventure garden, a neighborhood meeting place and a real laboratory. On the site of a former truck workshop in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, people try out together whether and how we could provide for ourselves in times of globalization with local resources, our own hands and mutual support in the city. Solawi Superschmelz is a community-supported agriculture organization just outside Hamburg that distributes fresh organic vegetables directly from the field to its members every week from 5 depots in Harburg and Wilhelmsburg. Together they want to make you better eaters - creative, healthy and delicious!

At our stand you will receive information about the "MOIN STADTNATUR" project. This is Hamburg's advice center for nature-oriented gardens, balconies and open spaces. You will find out how you can create a small natural paradise on your balcony or in your own garden.

Let the city blossom together with us and do something good for biodiversity. If you feel like it, you can make your own seed bag and take a portion of certified Regio seeds with you!

MycoLutions develops recyclable materials with fungal mycelium. Mushroom mycelium, the root network of the fungus, penetrates and decomposes organic materials in its natural habitat. MycoLutions makes use of this ability and develops an upcycling process for organic waste materials. The fungal mycelium binds particles together like straw to form a solid composite material. MycoLutions uses this sustainable material to produce acoustic and insulation products to replace polystyrene and other harmful materials.

The silent and secretive hunters of the night, our bats, need friends. Learn more about the fascination of the only actively flying mammals since prehistoric times at our stand. We will introduce you to the special features and lifestyles of this extraordinary animal species.

As an independent and non-profit organization, NABU-Hamburg looks forward to your visit. We will also be happy to answer your questions about nature conservation work in the most beautiful city in the world.

Naturally Hamburg! is a large nature conservation project of the environmental authority, which is being implemented on 5,400 hectares throughout Hamburg. The project is concerned with the protection and ecological maintenance of parks and nature reserves in Hamburg. It aims to preserve biodiversity and improve the ecological quality of habitats for native animals and plants. Natürlich Hamburg! also ensures that people in the city can better understand and enjoy this urban nature.

The special habitat of the freshwater tidal floodplain is an important focus of our non-profit nature conservation association. A unique habitat in Europe between Stade and Geesthacht. We operate the Elbe Tidal Floodplain Center with an association cafe in Moorwerder on this topic.

Our association also looks after 14 of Hamburg's 37 nature reserves. We actively protect species and biotopes, offer a diverse environmental education program and are involved in shaping and discussing politics within the city.

These groups often have fewer resources to adapt or protect themselves from the consequences. Climate justice demands that these inequalities are recognized and combated. In addition, migration is promoted by Europe's imperial mode of living.

The Ökomarkt e.V. participates in the task of increasing the diversity of plant-based foods on plates. A balanced, varied diet promotes health, supports the planet's regenerative capacity, and reduces CO₂- Burden from agriculture. The project aims to increase sales markets for innovative plant-based protein sources and familiarize consumers with the nutritional benefits of, for example, nuts, hemp seeds, algae, and mushrooms. With the help of information booths, the value of plant-based foods will be made tangible and accessible.

Come and talk to us, get to know our many offers and browse through the books on our colorful book table. We'll also be bringing illustrative material on wild bees and nesting aids. The plastic flood threatens our oceans!

Up to 20 million tons of plastic enter the ocean annually.

Studies show that poverty can be a significant cause of environmental degradation. In response to the interconnected challenges of poverty and plastic pollution, Sana Mare has developed the Social Cleanup program. Our approach combines ocean conservation with social justice. The project empowers people living in poverty by giving them the opportunity to earn a monthly income through collecting waste. At our booth, we provide information about this project and environmental protection projects.

Come to the Chop-Disco! Here, we'll save delicious food together that nobody wanted anymore. Since 2012, we've been showing the world how much fun it is to save food from the bin. Together with the Hamburg Nutrition Council, Foodsharing, and Slow Food, you'll chop fruit and vegetables and turn them into great dishes. Join us and help throw away less food – it's super easy and tasty!

Schrott bewahre is a non-profit association that rescues building materials from disposal and returns them to new cycles of use. Through mediation, processing and creative reuse, a new value is created for seemingly disused resources.

Solidarity Agriculture Vierlande e.V. Introduces Itself:
With delicious samples from the fields, the unique vegetable puzzle game, and information about the CSA. We've been growing vegetables together since 2017. Fresh, regional, and sustainable. The gardeners lovingly care for our fields, and you regularly pick up your share of the harvest at a drop-off point near you. Through fixed financing and complete off-take, we share risk and harvest, bear responsibility, and live solidarity. No middlemen. Honest, regional agriculture – as it should be.

Conserve resources, act sustainably, and avoid waste – playfully! In our circular economy workshop, you'll learn how recycling works and the journey our trash takes from being thrown away to being reused. Exciting puzzles and skill games for the whole family await you. Maneuver bottle caps precisely into the right bins with a grabber or test your waste separation knowledge in the barrel toss game. For young and old – discover new things with fun and actively protect the environment.

The Association for the Preservation of Crop Diversity (VEN) offers seeds of open-pollinated varieties, including old varieties and rarities. We also provide information in flyers and through personal conversations about cultivation possibilities and requirements for producing your own seeds. Above all, we want to emphasize the urgency of adapting European legal frameworks so that small businesses can and will be able to continue legally preserving old varieties in the future. We may also have some young plants available. We distribute seeds and plants in exchange for donations.

Cars need a hell of a lot of space! Estimate exactly how much at our stand, learn about exciting traffic facts and help draw our large mosaic picture. Of course, we also have plenty of ideas and concepts on traffic-related topics.

We are the young local group of Verkehrsclub Deutschland, all under the age of 35, and are committed to sustainable mobility for all. We organize discussions, excursions, campaigns and demonstrations for the mobility transition. Come along and let us inspire you!

The Vollhöfner forest grew wild and free for almost 60 years on a rinsing field at the port of Hamburg. In 2015, the Hamburg government decided to clear the forest for logistics areas. Studies showed that this forest is a very valuable, irreplaceable habitat. It is also at the heart of the biotope network. People who care about the forest founded the Vollhöfner Wald climate protection initiative and publicized this unique gem with walks and many campaigns. Successful!

The Wild Forest in Wilhelmsburg and the Altenwerder Wilderness are under threat, the city of Hamburg is destroying the last patches of wild nature in our city. The Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein wolf managers work together to ensure careful and transparent monitoring of wolves, support livestock farmers with advice on livestock protection and in the event of wolf kills, and inform the public about wolves.

We are a nature garden on the campus of the University of Hamburg run by volunteers and the AStA - the "Wurzelwerk".

We will be presenting our project at our stand and inviting you to join us in building a second nature garden on campus. We would like to make friends and gain further supporters.

As a practical side project, we offer to help fill small insect hotels with reed sticks.

We use these insect hotels to supplement the wildflower meadows on the university campus.
